Participatory budgeting – what’s that?

Participatory budgeting

Participatory budgeting means involving people in taking real decisions about how a limited resource is going to be spent. In schools, that means pupils having their say about at least some of their school budget.

Every1counts, the school version of participatory budgeting, recognises that all pupils have something to contribute towards making their school a better place in which to live, work and learn.
